Lee Fowler

Lee Fowler joined Stoke City in the year 1988 and soon established himself in the starting line up at Stoke. He was a versatile player who could play in various positions. He played as either a central defender and was highly effective in his right back position. He was a favourite with the Stoke City supporters during his time with the club.

Mark Stein

Stein started off his playing career at Luton Town between 1984 and 1988, most notable for his heroic performance in the 1988 League cup final win over Arsenal. He moved to Stoke City in 1991, spending two very successful years at the club, making over 120 appearances before signing to Chelsea for £1.5 million in 1993, scoring 25 goals in 63 appearances for the blues. He returned to Stoke during the 1996 – 1997 season on loan.

Ian Cranson

Ian Cranson became Stoke City’s record signing when he departed form Sheffield Wednesday in July 1989 for £480,000. He started off his playing career at Ipswich Town and during his spell at the club he earned five England under 21 caps. Injury cut Cranson’s debut season at the Stoke City, however he soon established him in the side during the 1990 – 1991 season.
