Lee Sandford

Lee Sandford started off his playing career at Portsmouth, spending four years playing for the club between 1985 and 1989 before moving on to sign for Stoke City in 1989 and soon settled in to the first team at the club and was an assured presence in the Stoke defence after signing to the club for £140,000. He developed through the junior ranks at Portsmouth under the guidance of Alan Ball.

John Butler

Butler started off his professional playing career with Wigan Athletic in 1981 and played over 250 matches for the Latics during his seven years playing for the club. He signed for Stoke City in 1988 and soon established himself as a fine full back at Stoke City. He is originally born in Liverpool in the year 1962.

Cliff Carr

Cliff Carr was an England under 21 international who made his first appearance in the year 1982 for Fulham and went on to spend five years playing for Fulham. He signed for Stoke City in 1987 for a fee worth around £45,000. He soon established him self as a full back in the Stoke City football team.
