Denis Smith

Smith spent his entire playing career starring for Stoke City between 1964 and 1982. In total, Smith made a staggering 493 appearances for the club and netted in 43 goals. He is notable for helping the club win the league cup in 1972. He later on enjoyed a successful managerial career, in charge at York City and Sunderland.

Mike Pejic

Mike Pejic’s amazing football career began during the 1968-69 season. His first club was Stoke City, a club which to this present day he is considered an all time legend. He was a key member of the Stoke first team during their triumphant success of winning the league cup final in 1972. They beat Chelsea at Wembley 2-1 in what has proved to be their only major trophy in their history in football. He later on had lengthy spells playing for Everton and Aston Villa. He was an FA Cup runner up in 1977 with Everton.

Geoff Hurst
Hurst played for West Ham United during his highly successful career in football.
During July 1966, Geoff Hurst achieved what many footballers could only dream of, a hat trick in the world cup final. During the 1966 finals, he failed to make the first side in the opening group matches; however injury to Jimmy Greaves awarded Hurst his opportunity against Argentina, in which he netted the only goal of that game. After his 3 goals in the final, Hurst became a world wide celebrity. He was in the first team for the 1970 world cup finals which England was defeated in the last eight to West Germany. His last appearance for England came in April 1972. Hurst finished off his playing career with Stoke City and West Brom.
